STill doing my cardio without eating. Gotta go tomorrow after the doctors. Gonna be a long *** day. Wont get home from the gym til like 4 or 5 pm. Not gonna sleep much then either before work. I think my body strangely works better when i am over tired and under nourished for the day. LOL No idea why, but long cardio seems easier on those days for me then days i got plenty of rest and have eaten.

Overall, everything I've read said that the worst times to run are on an empty stomach and before an intense workout session

Find out what works for you. If you can run without eating. That's great. It doesn't hurt having some fuel though. Try running @ 9:30am or 5:30pm.

I eat a well portioned breakfast and drink lots of water. I let my stomach digest it over the next 2 hrs before I run. After a while, you can reduce it to an 1 hr.

Lately I've been finding that a light dinner after work, then out to run after the kids go to bed an hour or two later is the best combo for me.

I'm not totally stuffed from dinner, but not trying to workout on an empty stomach either.

Besides, I usually try to do at least two nights a week at the gym....and I have to pass way too many great resteraunts to get there, can't handle THAT on a totally empty stomach.

What's killing me lately is that running/cardio is my main stress relief lately, so after work, when I could REALLY use a run or workout, my stomach is empty, it's too friggin hot out to go running, and the gym is packed.

Grabbing a quick bite first (apple, carrots, the like) with plenty of fluid, and then indulging in a proper meal after exercise works well for me. Gives me enough of a kick to get going, and gives me something to aim for through the work out lol.

I run at lunch and eat afterwards, seems to be okay. THe wife and I run saturday mornings about 9ish, I eat when I get up at 6, and usually feel kinda pukey while running....

The nice thing is, is now I can usually eat right after showering, after running. It used to be I would feel like crap for a couple hours after runninng and not be able to eat.
