GPS/Software Combo's

Is anyone using any gps-device and software combinations?

I recently started goofing around with Endomondo and actually kind of like it.
It's geared more for outdoor activities....although it does have some functionality for tracking indoor activities.

I like the mapping feature, and the stats aren't too bad for a free app.

The only problem is that it's written for PHONES.....I usually prefer not to carry mine for a run. I've seen some software out there that uses the GPS watches. (which would be nice to have the stopwatch & heartrate all built in) but I've heard most of those GPS watches are pretty crappy.

One thing I've discovered about myself, is that some kind of tracking methodology keeps the geek in me interested enough to actually keep working at this. (you'd think getting my pants to fit right again would be enough?!)

My workouts are mostly:
Outdoor running
Treadmill running / Cardio Equipment
Various outdoor activities like hiking, some skating, etc.

Wife and I use a magellan explora 500 and GPSbabel

we use it for geocaching. download the .loc files from geocaching.com and then use GPSbabel to convert them to .gs and move them onto the explora's geocaches directory

A coworker who's a "serious" runner just showed me the Garmin runners watch & software he uses. Looks pretty good, and he says he's very happy with it.

anyone have any experience with the Garmin stuff?

Anyone know if it's possible to manually enter an indoor workout?...like a treadmill run?
