Hey guys quick question. I want to be able to take and plug my Laptop into the PCs at school and be able to fileswap and such. Exactly what do I need to do? Usb to USb and then run a wizard or is their an easier way that will let me just plug and play with any PC? BTW the PC's at school (and my house for that matter) run WinXP. Both Home (on the wifes) and Pro (My PC/Laptop and the Schools)

Is there some software I can put on my Laptop that will let it synch up without running a Wizard or configuring each Network? If I have to run a wiz or config chances are that wont fly at school as I will have to request special clearance from their IT department and prolly run what ever Anti-Virus they require so on so forth.

Thanks in advance Guys!

USB flash drive if you're moving from place to place. Although they might have the ports turned off and it could be against their policy.

However, this is the easiest way to move files.....

I already Use flash drives at school. I want to be able to hook my laptop up to the schools network. My instructor also wants to know how to hook his Laptop up.

1 of the number one reasons I want to do this is becouse the IT guy who sets up "drives" for the instructors is on vacation and will not be back until this term is half over. I do not want to hassle with porting from PC to Flash to Laptop and back agian. Also the Instructor wants to know how to do it so that we those of us with Laptops can just Port every thing to his at once instead of him having to slot Flash drive after Flashdrive.

Besides I want to be able to hook up to my PC anytime I feel like it. I keep some programs on my Laptop andothers on my PC and I want to be ableto access them when ever I want to. I would also liketo be able to access these programs while at school without seting my Router up remote.

If you want to direct connect them, just use a crossover cable between the NICs. Just set up a small network with filesharing, and drag and drop.
