Thank heavens for our developers, I mean, these guys are a miracle and gift to our organization! There really IS NO END to the amounts of "everything" they know! My word, if it weren't for them.......how else would us SA's ever know how to do our jobs??

(sorry guys, just HAD to get that out)

Yours all terrible prima-donnas too? Must come from someone deciding that your time is worth $120.00 an hour...

The tales I could tell. I swear to god it would break your heart.

I always try to be helpful, and considerate.
BUT... there is another guy here who is EXACTLY like the "Company Computer Guy" from that Saturday Night Live skit.

Smart, but -ZERO- people skills. Absolutely impossible to deal with on any level.

I think we really need that giant EM pulse to set things back to normal and start all over again.

I guess they didn't like your design and "fixed" it for you?

We have one particular group of developers who are under the impression that their apps run in a vacuum, clearly since that's how they develop them.

They routinely churn out apps and try to have us deploy them with no testing period. Then cry to management that we're holding them up. They send our helpdesk deployment packages with no documentation, and often missing required components.....Then cry to management that they helpdesk has not yet deployed their workstation apps.

Ugh, endless cycle.

Your problem is that your "helpdesk" is allowed to control deploying in house apps. The helpdesk folks should stick to plugging stuff into wall sockets and stop harrassing the dev guys.

LOL!
In general I'd agree with you, but in all honesty, the helpdesk guys here are woefully under-titled. The weakest one of them would be considered "senior desktop" anywhere else.

I though you were gonna rant about people who like to buy up farms, cut them up into small parcels, build a bunch of culdesacs, build a bunch of identical houses, and call the street names some silly thing like woodcreek lane, or some nonsens, and then call this little neiborhood rock burch acres, or something equally asinine. In the meantime, the yuppies that move out there have to join an association that doesn't let them have any cars with rust or something, and then they come to town meeting sna ddemand that farmers in the surrounding areas stop spreading manure because it stinks, and since 150 of them moved in where only 1 used to live, they have suddenly become a powerful voice in the township..

Our developement team is actually not bad. They are pulling thier hair out doing a big ERP project right now. I actually pity them, I just have to fix busted stuff, they have to make something work that was purposely designed not to work with something that was purposely designed not to work with anything else.
