| Mod with mad UPS!!! Join Date: May 2006 | Want to buy an X-Box 360. Need help. I know very little about want XBox to get - what is needed - and what is not. So - if you were to buy an XBox 360 primarily for playing 1st and 3rd person shooters (not a ton - I am not a serious gamer) what would you recommend. Do I need a cooler? What Size Hard Drive? Controllers? Headsets? XBOX Live? Remote Controls? WTF? BBQ? Thanks, TF

| Lord humungus the Mod | I would get the cooler...its loud as hell but better safe than sorry. The premium comes with 1 wireless. I would buy a second wireless...don't waste your time on the wired version because the wireless is only $10 more. The headset comes with your 12 month Xbox live subscription. If you have the scratch I would buy a wireless also. If you game alot like myself you'll need the wired headset while your wireless is charging. You wont need the remote control. I purchased the High def player for my 360 and it came with the remote...it functions the same as the controller. -Jake

Don't know if you need the Hd end of it. Rumors are that the lower and mid range set-ups will be coming down in price, maybe even a hundred bucks in the relatively near future |

If you need to know anything else, lemme know. Freind has had a 360 for almost a year, and we've gotten into just about everything you can get into with it. He currently has to send it to get fixed, as it just burnt up. ![]() *EDIT* The Elite is pretty much useless, other than the black color and the HDD. The HDMI stuff for it is practically no better than the standard component cables.

| Lord humungus the Mod | The elite comes with HDMI cables...and unless your fanatical you will be just fine with the component. I run full HD through mine and I can guarantee you wont notice a difference. -Jake
