Nikon D800
I just got an email about this. Anyone else seen this? Thoughts?
Nikon D800 36.3 Megapixel FX-Fromat Digital SLR Body

desertT1 02-07-2012 06:43 PM

36.3 Megapixels, holy crap! With consumer point and shoots being in the 14-16 range (from what I've seen without paying much attention) that's a huge jump. Granted this isn't a point and shoot, but 16 was the highest number I'd seen posted in the recent ads.

I would think that would take away from Nikon's amazing high ISO performance, but I might be surprised.

chopper duke 02-07-2012 06:59 PM

ISO is listed at 100-6400 and expandable to 25,600 in HI-2 and down to 50 in LO-1

...and in a FX format. I bet its money all over.

I love my 50D, but I have been tempted by the D7K lately. This is unreal though, lol. I would still rather have a D700. That camera is godly!

Huh, I got the email as well.

Upon opening it, I was... Man that's going to cost an arm and leg... and it does.

D7k is pretty fantastic. A friend of mine who does like weddings and fun jazz loves it.

Yeah according to Fstoppers, the d800 price point is $3000. I am waiting for the d300 replacement.

I'm really wondering who needs that resolution...I'd rather have bleeding edge High-ISO performance!

They kinda did, they just pulled an apple and made a d300s. About 2 weeks after I bought a d300 :censored:
