Bamboo Tablets (Or Similar)

For the uninformed: Bamboo Tablets | Wacom Americas

The instructor in the course I am in swears by these. Any other opinions? Essentially, it gives you a virtual pen for editing.

I have a Bamboo tablet and I really like it. I use it on my desktop machine with PS and Lightroom and it's a really nice tool for editing with. It takes a little getting used to and the buttons on the pen are kind of awkwardly placed, but those are my only complaints with mine. It's a nice product that has worked well.

I haven't used the bamboo, but I've used the Intuos tablets before. They are very nice. Takes a little time to get used to. The Intuos' are a bit larger than the bamboo (and more expensive, of course) and they have more customizability with more buttons and stuff. The Bamboo might be nice for portability and working on a laptop or something. I really want to get one of these Cintiq 24HD | Wacom Americas, but alas, when the monitor costs more than the MacPro to which it's connected...

I have a a5 wide bamboo at work and at home, I like smaller tablets more than big. I always draw small with traditional media too. I canīt live without anymore.
I hate the buttons too, makes your thumb cramp.

OK, now it's on my to buy list.

I hold the pen upside down and use my index finger to push the buttons. Works better for long periods of time.

I have a Intuos (SP?) small tablet, great little device.

It's for sale though, since I bought a Lenovo laptop with a Wacom screen :)

Let me know if you want it $100 and I'll ship it to you.

I have the Bamboo Capture and love it. For the money it is great. I use it in Sketchbook pro, maya, and mud box. I like that it has extra pad room for your palm. The Bamboo fun, which didn't have it, was uncomfortable.
