What I've read in the forum is that at E3 they had demo booths to play MWO and a few members on that board got to play. Apparently lighter mechs do really really really well for the time being. At least the Jenner anyway, which while never having a ton of armor, can bring some guns to bear and goes about 130 KPH in it's stock configuration. 6 laser hardpoints and a missile hardpoint. The problem is the missile hardpoint is in center torso with the engine so you don't have enough slots for any of the really big launchers, like the LRMs. The arms (if you can call them that on a jenner) house all the energy hardpoints so you can strafe very easily. The reticles are split so you can aim your arms independently of the torso guns, or just faster than them, making strafing runs on heavier mechs more survivable than in earlier games where you have to keep looking at the target.
From what I saw from E3 the missile jenner has 2 two missile hard points so you can put two LRM 5s in it or two srm 6s.

The jenner is a beast due to lag since it moves so fast weapons can't keep up with them. Same thing goes with the Commando with a 300xl+ engine in it.

Your link is dead, but I assume it's to this:

Yeah, didn't realize the link itself had the word for fecal matter in it, so MCB would kill it. If you want to read the article, replace the **** with, well, you know.

Negative, this is the controller they were talking about:

Made by a company called Ripleigh, which only has a placeholder website at the moment.

Here's an article on the Ripleigh controller that doesn't have the word **** in the URL.

And a video:

Yeah, it's like the Steel Battalion controllers for the original XBox (almost bought one just for that game and that controller, but didn't want to pay an extra $60 a year for XBL, eff that noise), minus the pedal box, but since it's a PC game with a PC controller, you can buy one separately and reprogram the game to take it (these would work). Make 'em continuously adjustable so all the way off is stop, halfway down is half speed, all the way down is full speed, etc, and then the other pedal is jump jets. Or full stop and center torso vertically and horizontally, or even reverse, or whatever you can think it needs to be.

That's what I love about being a PC gamer, the fact that if the game is the least bit good you can adjust every control so it's right where you want it (and I've uninstalled games after half an hour of an install when I've found you can't adjust their controls one like, and they really need to be changed).

the problem with lag is if the netcode is one that causes rubberbanding like you get in Diablo 3 (BTW You should NEVER rubberband in a single player game.) I can forsee lots of light mech collisions happening and resulting in scout mechs becoming easy freaking prey.

Buy a founder's pack and you're in the beta. I have a legendary founder's pack so I am in fact playing the game, however it was required that I sign onto an NDA despite being a founder in order to play so I can't give very many details into how the game plays. They probably won't begrudge me saying that it is freaking AWESOME.

Man, I loved Steel Battalion. That controller was sick (still have both). That settles it, next project is to build a new PC.
