Mechwarrior online?

http://mwomercs.com/
Anyone looked into this yet, just stumbled upon it the other day and signed up for my pilots name. Looks like it just opened last November.

Have heard about it, but haven't gone by the site to register yet. Also keeping an eye out for a game by the name of Hawken.

Hawken is looking EXCELLENT! Using the unreal engine i think? Uber small shop working on it though, i just hope they hang in there long enough to make it happen!

Just watched the Hawken vid Official Hawken Gameplay (work in progress) - YouTube
Looks very crisp, thinkin it may be a bit more arcadie for the MW crowd but big armored mech combat...sign me up.

Turns out I signed up for the game in November. I never even knew anything about it until a couple days ago. Is that bad?

not very impressed with hawken. Not sure why.. perhaps its the faster pace gameplay? I say leave that to Armored Core. Or perhaps its the cockpit, to me it just seems like a piece of paper :P very old school FPS like, perhaps more depth to the cockpit would help. Also colors and environment just dont go together. to me it seems like there may be alot of issues distinguishing things apart from one another and visuals with enemy.

I'm excited for both games, I even got to reserve the same name on both games... and I'm signed up for the Hawken Beta.

biggest thing I'd like to see is ballistics designed with more realism in mind. I never liked how, say i've got an auto-cannon with a range of 600m, in the old games that gun was completely useless on something 601m away. Give the rounds some actual drop off point so they can be lobbed for extra distance at maybe a small penalty to the damage caused. Make beam weapons have no drop off but have the damage done drop off after their maximum effective range.

Im actually thinking about building a computer for this game. Never been that way before.

No sign of my Archer yet, but I saw my Jenner! Loose the jumpjets, up armor, slightly bigger engine, dump a laser, some heatsinks and load it down with SRMs.

I think MW3 had that right. The dropoff of weapons was a little silly, but at least the laser weapons actually, you know, moved at the speed of light.
