You will love that Sigma 30 1.4 I have one on my 60D, and it barely comes off. I did pick up a Canon 15-85 this past year, and that one is becoming a favorite as well.

Although I am still tempted by the Darkside, lol, I'm going to rent a D7k when I get to Texas I think.

I have been looking for the equivelant to a 50mm for my Canon DSLR (28mm I think?) for the same reasons as above, but they are too expensive.

The 35 f2 is a little longer but better optically from what I have seen. Also cheaper!

Love my 35/2, itīs a perfect match for a crop camera.
On my FF (meaning film ) camera I always have the 50/1.8.

I've been shooting an older Nikon 50mm f1.8, full manual lens on my D7000 for awhile now. My mom bought me one of the AF 50mm f1.8, still with the Aperture ring. I'm loving it. You lock out the Aperture ring at 22, then use the front command dial to change the aperture. It has somewhere around 22-23 different F-stops.

I've still got a full manual 28mm that i love shooting with.

If you want the images to be the same, then yes a 35mm or 28mm on a crop will be similar.

Primes are a great way to get you zooming with your feet and thinking about your positioning and composition.
Ryan that is the best description ever!!!

Just got one for my A65, pretty excited to be back on prime. Still need to get a good tele for paintball photography, but there is something special about this format.
