I have a samsung nx200 and the first thing I did was to get a 50mm eqiuivilant. (30mm)
GF has a 5d mk2 with the f1.4 50mm from canon and the photos it takes are stunning.
Find me on PBN if you require my attention

I have a 35/1.8 on my D3000 and I love it. It's all I have other than the kit lens, but I have hardly used the kit lens at all since I bought the 35mm. I love it.

What would be a good one for a canon? Maybe low and high end?

50 f1.8 is the cheapest. Optically, it's amazing for the price of $100. Build quality is well, plasticky.

50 f1.4 is much better build wise. Still great optically.

50 f1.2 is a great lens, L series quality. It's also 10 times more than the f1.8.
