Special Spot

So do any of you readers have a "special spot" to read? The cliche image of a man clad in a smoking jacket and a fez puffing on a pipe, propped up in a Queen Anne chair before a roaring fire come mind.

I had thought about rigging up a nice little corner in my room, dedicated to a good read. I have a bed with a lit headboard and even backrests specifically for that purpose, but I can never seem to stay comfortable reading in bed.

Just thought it would be an interesting subject.

When I read, it's normally outside on the patio, if the weather is agreable. Something nice about the breeze and fresh air.

I try to read outside, but I'm not too particular about where I read. Every morning after breakfast, I go outside to read/drink coffee if the weather is nice. If it's too cold, I'll go sit on the toilet for a half hour and read. Bathroom lighting is usually intense.

I like to curl up on the foot of my bed by the window. (Not in bed, but with a throw and moving a pillow or two to lay on.)

Or leaning a chair back against a wall in a mechanical room. During breaks of course.

I like to read in bed or laying down on the couch, hugging a pillow so my arm doesn't get tired holding the book/e-reader up. Though lately, I've only been reading hunched over in an economy airplane seat.

Oh, I read car magazines during my morning ****, but that isn't really a special spot.

Used to like reading in my sunroom in a comfy chair, until the dogs destroyed that room. Hopefully will be cleaning it up and redoing it for my reading enjoyment this summer. But always enjoyed reading outside on the front step or yard in a lounge chair and yes with a pipe buy sadly no fez. Always wanted one though for some reason.

You can add the forest to my 'special spots.' First warm and dry day that I'm at my cabin, I go into the woods and read the first book of The Fellowship of the Ring. It's become tradition for me.
