Have a Canon 18-55mm, wondering if I should trade up to a 18-135mm?
I am totally new to photo stuff here.
I currently have a t2i that came with the 18-55mm kit lens.
However, I'd like to get a little bit more distance to shots, etc. Does anyone have the 18-135mm lens and can comment on how it is?
If you're looking for reach, keep the 18-55 IS and look at a 55-250 IS to go with it, which will give you a bigger range for $100 less than the 18-135.
I did look up the 55-250 though, but I would like to be able to get the closeups too, without swapping lens.
you can still get closeups with the 55-250. when im shooting portraits, i normall use my 70-200. it allows me to get some great headshots.
I bought the 55-250 and love it but
can only really compared it to the 18-55 as i have the T3
55-250 is great for range (I use it for paintball) and close ups so no worries there
just need to stand back a bit more compared to the 18-55
Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll keep my eye out for a 55-250mm then.
I don't really do alot of portraits, but I did a couple photoshoots with friends who wanted some cool photos to use on their Facebooks and blogs, and the 18-55 served me just fine haha.
