Trip to the Zoo with Big Glass

Took my brand new D4 and my 400mm 2.8 to the zoo yesterday, like shooting fish in a barrel!

the narrow DOF from the f/2.8 helps that a lot... the wires are so out of focus theyre barely seen.

Long focal length, big aperture, and being as close to the wires as possible does a good job. Also be sure the animals face/eyes are in one of the wire openings, as you do loose a big of sharpness and some contrast.

A few of these shots were through plexi glass. The same formula works, just avoid the smudges as best you can.

Thanks for the comments guys!
