Oh my god what a great version of Chicago! I'm going to buy this game just for that.

Haha, I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw it.

It's been an acceptable plot device for any number of movies, at least.

Regarding Watch Dogs, we've seen one trailer and one gameplay video. If he can derive not only the game's plot but also its subverted message from that he's either a genius analyst and should be working in the industry or an ignorant *** who is thrusting his own counter-agenda onto an easy target. You be the judge.

Video game studios manufacture escapism like any other entertainment company - I'd suspect more bereft of hidden agendas than people would want to believe. The main difference is they're a softer target than most as every piece of information they trickle out is inevitably posted to "news" sites with comment sections, so inexplicably angry "fans" can spew inexplicable angry hate at an entity with no means to defend itself. Be better than that.

That said, I have to go catch a train to E3 now .
I never said he was my buddy, but you're certainly entitled to your opinion as is the other guy. I'll refrain from any further commentary on it to avoid the political issues.

Ubi announced that it was for current gen platforms which is amazing considering the amount of detail seen.

Agreed, and as are you! Which, really, was the point of my semisensical ranting - check things out for yourself (as I intend to with Watch Dogs and now Tank! Tank! Tank!). After all, the first Watch Dogs trailer clearly states that the city power/management systems are now corporation run, so the game is really more akin to Syndicate than 1984.

I thought the new Halo looked pretty good for being on current gen as well. It begs the question, are we beginning to see the peak performance. Will this be the last good generation of games until the next hardware release?

Personally, I think so. This E3 is probably it and the big hardware announcements will be next year. Means at least another 1.5 to 2 years of good, current-gen games, though.

That's what I'm thinking. The offerings seemed a little slim this year. I think next year will be a little better and the following years it'll taper off as they start developing for new hardware.
