If you watch your backgrounds, the 50 1.8 is a decent lens for the price.

Also, I have been looking at some MF lenses. Can you shed some light on that matter, Mike?
Best Buy has them for $200. I'm picking one up tomorrow at Best Buy to play with.

I've never used the 50 2.5. In lieu of a 50mm lens, I have the 45mm 2.8 st-e lens. Close enough to 50mm, plus it's very sharp and has the the tilt-shift component which I like for various environmental photography...which is something I incorporate daily in my professional line of work.

The 1.8 is pretty crappy in every other aspect than image quality.
I have one that came with a camera I bought, but I would never buy it.

If you´re shooting crop camera, 50mm is too long for pretty much everything, and if you have a full frame, you don´t want to spoil it with that flimsy lens.

I would suggest either 35/2 or the 50/1.4

so you wanna sell the one you have baader? lol

i have a 30d right now but im getting a 7d soon... i figured the 1.3xish crop on the 7d would make a 50 prime pretty good and the 35L is on my dream list...

ill look into others but ill probably pick up a nifty fifty in the mean time. hopefully i get a "good copy"

I would sell the one I have, but shipping etc. would make it so expensive that you would not want it.
