You have one? Woah. I'd definitely enjoy trying one out.

I rent one when I have shoots. Very few people actually "Own" a red, unless that is what they do for a living.

Makes sense. I've seen a few of them around trade shows and what not but I haven't used one hands-on yet. Definitely some stunning footage coming outa those things.

It funny this came up. I had known much about the Red camera but in my youtubes recommends channel a video of a GH2 vs. a Red Epic for video came up. With that side by side comparison I liked the GH2 better for video but its not clear cut with that Red Scarlet X. There is an interesting side by side comparison here. I'm sure the Red beats out the GH2 for many reasons but for a decent price the GH2 doesn't seem far behind.

I was all over the Scarlet when it was first announced, but then they started dropping features and raising the price. Suddenly it no longer looked like a worthwhile investment (where I'm at, I'd have to straight up buy one).

The gh2 is phenomenal. For an affordable every day option, it is going to be tough to beat. The Scarlet-X is just on another level.

The GH2 is neat, but it's been trumped bad by the newer models from Sony.
