Need some Help

Ok so i recently got a Canon 550D (T2i) and went and shot some video. Now i have been using Windows Movie Maker in the past because it works for what i need.....Come to find out that it does not support the T2i's MOV format - So now im bummed, my question is what software will support the MOV format (im shooting 720/60fps) and still be easy to use like Windows MM. Also free or fairly cheap would be nice....im on a PC not a MAC too.

Any help is greatly appreciated

You can try using Handbrake HandBrake

Another free one I like is Mpeg Streamclip http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-win.html

These will convert the files into something you can use.

Have you looked into something better than Windows Movie Maker? Maybe something like the home edition of Vegas or Adobe Premiere Elements?

I might do that. I just want something fairly cheap that will accept the mov format for editing

You're better off converting the footage I think. If I try to drop 5D MKIII footage straight into Final Cut 7 it just wont work, if the editing program isn't kept up to date then you'll keep running into these compatibility problems. The video file is wrapped in the MOV but the codec from how your camera handles the video files is whats really going to cause a problem.

It depends on your settings. Couldn't hurt to experiment though and see what works for you since those programs are free.
