Laptop Chill Pad
Can anyone recommend a good one that wont break the bank but will cool my laptop? I have a 15" Dell Inspiron. I am looking at a Thermapak as well as one from Startech. Thanks in advance!

Ridin' The ShortBus
I need to know too, gone through three this year alone!
Currently using a Macally bamboo pad...it's lasted the longest, just not the strongest fans though.

My experience has been that none of these do much of anything more than a "board" for your lap will do. The only significant difference I have ever noted from several I have purchased over the years was the fans ability to cool my nuts, that was about it.
Using a core temp program with proc, HD, and memory temp sensors on I logged temps with and without the fans on with the last one I purchased. Case temp went down, but actually brought up temps inside. I suspect it was due to interfering with the computers ability to move air inside with it's own fans.
I have since purchased a "laptop desk" which is really just a plastic board with beanbag bottoms. Cost me less than $10 and works as well as either of the "coolers" did.

I bought this one for my wife's laptop and she's been very satisfied with it:
Targus Chill Mat: usually sells for around $28.
The angle makes it easy to use on one's lap, and it's very soft. Fans are very quiet too.
