If you do get a new card, try this before you throw the old one away!
this only works if there's a bad solder it lead. In theory, it will start to liquify the solder, and hopefully re-establish the connection

How does this one look?

Amazon.com: EVGA GeForce GTX 660Ti SUPERCLOCKED 2048MB GDDR5 DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI, DP, SLI Graphics Card (02G-P4-3662-KR) Graphics Cards 02G-P4-3662-KR: Electronics

It comes out to $300 and reading the reviews from around the web, it sounds good.

If you're playing at 1080 or under a pair of 560s would do better, the 660 is a good choice though.

uh, a single 560 would do most anything just fine. I use a GTX 470 for everything at max on 1200 res, no problems.

I currently have this card: GeForce 295 GTX

There have been issues with the card and I think I've narrowed it down to either a bad card or a bad power supply.

What card would you all recommend to get similar or better performance for around $250-$300?

If you need any more details on my setup, let me know.
Thanks
okay i have good question. the power supply you have on computer. is it over 500wts or less then 500wts

For the price of a 660 he can purchase 2 560s was my point. At resolutions about 1080, the 660 is a better choice, for 1080 or below the 560s appear to have better benchmarks.

And that would be overkill for at least another year I think. Multi-GPU support is getting more common so no reason not to SLI

Although he would probably end up needing an upgrade sooner, so the 660 may be better. Depends on upgrade habits more than anything I think.
