The official release is tonight at midnight on their site. I'm definitely looking forward to this even though i just recently bought a hero2.

Well its very likely that Hero2 will get a firmware update, since the Hero3 Silver appears to have identical specs.

That batteries are not that big just wide
So it wouldn't take up too much room

Yea they look the same on their site but who knows. Just asking because I have 6 batteries and just trying to price things out.

So far all I need to acquire is a 64 gig MicroSD card.

I only want to shoot in 720p 60fps with 90fov so I doubt the black version will be what I end up with.

I looked into it... It sounds great, but honestly, features I'm just not going to get the full benefit of using.

I'll spend my money on the new Contour+2. It's more streamlined, had full 1080p and wifi... You can download an app on your android or iphone, so you can actually SEE what your camera is seeing. No more screwed up view points because your mask or whatever was in the way or crooked.

I really like that feature.

That and I can use it as a periscope during paintball.
