I doubt you're looking for hardcore running shoes.

Just buy mid level running shoes and you should be fine. As many have said, go to the shop and have them fit you for them. It's really the best thing you can do.

That being said
I have three pairs that I use.

Bought these yesterday. Decided against spending a ton of money on shoes for how much running I actually do. So far, they are pretty comfy!

Know it's past the point now, but New Balance Minimus did wonders for my knees and were even comfy as a daily wear.

A running thread? I need a new pair, my Nike Freeruns are starting to get worn in, put a hell of a lot of miles on them this cross country season.

On a side note, I'll be running my county championship meet tomorrow on what I suspect are two stress-fractured legs. I'm honestly scared for this meet.
