Cyberpunk

I just got finished reading "Snow Crash," which was a fun read by Neal Stephenson (I can always recommend a book where the main character's name is "Hiro Protagonist"), and I feel I'm in the mood for some more neo-future. Can anybody make any suggestions? Thanks!

Cryptonomicon by Neil Stephenson or almost any of his books.

Neuromancer by William Gibson is the point of origin IMO for Cyberpunk.

I second Swamp Thing's suggestions, anything by Stephenson and Gibson is good to hook.

I haven't read 'em yet, though the books are on my to read list - I've heard good things about Richard Morgan's Takeshi Kovacs novels. It's a trilogy containing Altered Carbon, Broken Angels, and Woken Furies.

Will have to check them out. Thanks for the suggestions!

The Kovacs novels are excellent! That's a great suggestion.

The other Gibson books are also excellent. Not exactly sequels, but alot of the stories are somewhat inter-related, often sharing characters or locations.

Count Zero, & Mona Lisa Overdrive are both good, solid cyberpunk novels, and Burning Chrome is a collection of short stories.

Go to the used book store and look up the Shadowrun books. Some of them are really great reads. Gotta love the mix of guns, tech, and magic.

Thanks Magoo, you saved me the trouble of doing a search for new books. Looks like I'm not going to have a life for a while...
