Butcher's pacing is frantic. I can almost feel Harry's exhaustion as a novel progresses.

Downloaded Cold Days from Amazon yesterday- can't wait to start!

One thing about the TV series, since I watched a couple episodes before discovering the written series, Paul Blackthorn will always play the roll of Harry in my head as I read. Of course, if they make movies based on the series, they will probably use Tom Cruise.

I thought he did great in the Dresden Files TV show. So, it was odd to watch him in the "River" TV show, with a british accent, and playing somewhat a greedy antagonist.

I enjoyed the Dresden Files TV show. Wish they had picked it up for a couple more seasons. The Dresden Files books are on my "to read" list.

Finished Cold Days. Not going to spoil anything, but wow! I can't type anything else, don't want to risk setting off the swear filters.

I had Butcher at my convention about 4 books into the series back in the 00's. Really nice guy. VERY soft spoken, and he seemed to be a bit bewildered that people liked his stuff so much.

The TV series had a similar flavor to the books, but I'll agree with everyone else that the books are much better. I have a friend reading them now, and it's shocking to me how much the series built it's groundwork for the world-building in the first 5-ish novels. Jim had a lot going on and getting planned out early.
