Bank Account Excel Spreadsheet
Here is a very simple but effective spreadsheet in excel:

Download it - template.xls

This is the exact sheet I have been using for over 11 years now. No lie, just kept scrolling up until I saw I've been using mine since November of 2001.

I just cleaned it up and put in some example amounts to get folks started.

No need to have a fancy program. Just make sure it balances with your accounts every month, and you're golden.

Probably should have cleared out your bank account info and passwords before you uploaded it.

Just kidding...

I know a lot of folks who use spreadsheets. Works great.

If you do want something a bit fancier, Microsoft Money is now free:
Download Money Plus Sunset Deluxe from Official Microsoft Download Center

Been using that since about 2005 now - was using a spreadsheet before that.

Do you know of any difference between the "US" and "Canada" downloads?

The Credit Union I used for 90% of my banking (HDA, 403B and Mortgage with someone else) Has a great online registry where you can categorize transactions, add transactions, etc. really made my checking account a lot easier to follow.

There isn't one anymore. MS did away with regional localization of Money with the Sunset edition.

Noticed both ended up pointing to the US version anyway. I'm going to try playing around with it.
