How long does DBAN take to finish?

My Laptop has been having some problems latley, so twelve hours ago I started the process of doing a clean wipe of my Hard Drive with Darik's Boot and Nuke. I selected the DoD 5220 with 1 pass to wipe the Hard Drive and hit start. The program went thru a screen of text and then my screen displayed an Ad for Blancco, which is the software company that recently bought the rights to DBAN. I expected the process to take a couple hours since I only have a 320 GB Hard Drive, but when I woke up this morning, the same ad is still on my screen. How long is This going to take or am I missing something?

A single pass shouldn't take more than 10 hours or so (last I remember). Does the ad ask you to click on anything? Are you sure it's actually running?

Turns out I had a DBAN had a Non-Fatal Error. It was actually doing nothing.

Took me around 7 hours to completly zero my 250ish gig drive. Tried doing it on our desktop recently and it didn't work; initially my dad burned a new copy, but that didn't work, (our burner is near the end of it's' life, which didn't help) then we used my old copy, same error he was getting. Was frustrating/weird.

Turns out that happens when DBAN is unable to recognise a part of your computer, in this case is was my CD Drive, thus the Error. So I downloaded a different program called "Parted Magic", Which is kind of like an temporary OS with DBAN as one of its programs along with a bunch of other intresting and useful tools. Loaded it up and 3 hours later quick wiped my Disk! It works Great highly recomend it!
