door frames aren't meant to hold that kind of weight, and i personally think the unavoidable swinging motion is probably more variable than the little bar's anchoring design can accommodate.

if you can't afford gym membership, then just head on to the nearest set of monkey bars at your local community park. jog there and you can get some cardios in too. as long as you wear some kind of track suit or basketball shorts you won't look like an idiot.

I used one for p90x a while back. Worked really well for the price.

A buddy of mine had one as well until he bought a wall mounted pull up bar, I got mine from him actually.

Amazon.com: Ultimate Body Press Wall Mounted Pull Up Bar: Sports & Outdoors

I'd suggest something like that unless you are looking for a product where you can just pull it out when needed. Overall the wall mounted system is much more sturdy and I find myself able to trust the wall mounted version a little more.

I do have a gym membership but on some winter days I can just not want to go if there a snow storm or ice roads. So I want a backup plan at home(living room in a 4 1/2).

I agree that wall mounted version look better

Mine has worked fine. I guess if I cheated and did the whole swing thing it could be a problem.

Mine works just fine.
Granted you're not supposed to do the swing motion. Save that for real thing.
