LR4 Glitchy?
I need something to edit photos. All I have right now is the stock canon software and it just doesn't cut it (DPP). I hear LR4 is slow and glitchy. Should I pick up LR3 or 4? I haven't used either program, but I used one of the older photoshops for a while.
/paragraph of jumbled thoughts.

I personally run LR 3.6 64 bit.

I figure it will be cheaper than a new laptop. I want a new laptop.. Don't need. I have an 09 (I think) macbook pro and I want to get away from OSX, but idk. I figure if I get something for this and run it into the ground then I will be content for a couple more years. It sucks how quickly technology changes.

I am still running LR3 since a step to LR4 will probably require a new system--I'm pushing it with my 3 year old Mac at present.

My mac seems to boot it okay (09 as said). Just picked it up. Decided not to wait any longer.

I run LR4 and just updated to 4.3 last night. Love it! I notice most changes in the Development module.

I ran LR3 for about a year on my MacBook Pro without any issues. I got LR4 a little while back and it's a good upgrade. The reason I bought it was because of the video capabilities.

The develop module is different and it takes some getting used to when you upgrade, but it's a better layout in my opinion.

LR4 has a 30 day trial, I'm not sure if you tried it before purchasing. But it has been stable for me since they released it last year. Your other option would be trying Aperture, which again has a 30 day trial and see how it performs for you.

If you want to increase your performance of your MBP, swap out for a SSD drive and increase your RAM(I'd recommend crucial memory)

have not found it to be glitchy at all.
I love LR4
