I hate using origin...too clunky and unrefined. I wish EA would just go back to using Steam. Good sale, though

i accidentally signed up for origin when i bought alice madness returns and it says i *need* an origin account even though it was signle player. i didn't know i could just hit cancel and play.

so that account has just been sitting there. 70% off isn't going to change it especially since i can get pretty much free money on steam by selling promo tf2 hats.

For $15, I'd pick it up. The reviews were "Meh.", but the Multiplayer beta was fun as hell. I might grab it for the storyline too, I'd like to finish what started in MoH.

anyone still playing BFBC2? i re installed mine last week, the game runs but all i get is a black screen even in campaign mode, anyone got nay idea (looks like i am not the only user with this issue)

Lol, I remember reading an article by EA saying how they will never offer "big discounts" like Steam, and how Steam was a bad business model.

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't turned origin on in over 6 months.

Q: One of the things that Steam does is this random deep-discounting of software, and it works well for them. Do you see that as something you want to do?

David DeMartini: We won't be doing that. Obviously they think it's the right thing to do after a certain amount of time. I just think it cheapens your intellectual property. I know both sides of it, I understand it. If you want to sell a whole bunch of units, that is certainly a way to do that, to sell a whole bunch of stuff at a low price. The gamemakers work incredibly hard to make this intellectual property, and we're not trying to be Target. We're trying to be Nordstrom. When I say that, I mean good value - we're trying to give you a fair price point, and occasionally there will be things that are on sale you could look for a discount, just don't look for 75 percent off going-out-of-business sales.

Just another case of EA saying they know what's best for gamers and the gaming industry I think this sale is all about damage control after the Simcity debacle and trying to get people back onto Origin. One of the reasons I keep checking out Steam is for the sales even if I don't want to play anything and I do that by choice. Origin I just use because I have to and I only have 3 games on Origin DA2, C&C collection (awesome!) and Simcity.

I use it for Battlefield. It is such a pain in the a** to use. Steam is far superior.

this? EA: Origin won't copy Steam 75% off sales • News • Eurogamer.net yeah, very hypocritical. to add: notice how this is published in JUNE, and that same year origin had their own SUMMER SALE.
