the main quest is truly meh. it's just a big world you can lose yourself into for days. i hope you bought pc, because you can get the official HD texture packs for free on steam. i installed those and find the stock graphics really ****ty. i cannot play without those texture packs now.

there are countless other side missions, my favorite is the dark brotherhood mission lines. i would say that one side plot is as long as the entire story of dishonored, another bethesda game.

it has player mods too, but the game was fun even without them.

The thieves guild storyline is the best, purely because of the armor you get...it's like you're Medieval Batman!

I've been trying the new Neverwinter MMO. So far it's pretty standard as far as MMO's go, but "The Foundry" feature that allows you to create your own content which is far above anything else out there on the market. There is already a ton of user-created content in the game already, some are very good, others are so-so. But, if you don't like what is created, it makes it pretty easy to create your own.

I played that, then New Vegas twice, then FO3 again. Great games. On the second plays I tried to be a little devious, or just destroy anything/anyone I could. Even in a game I have a hard time doing that.

Far Cry 3 is the same thing. Played through once as I wanted, now doing it again and not taking anything over (ok, just a few so I have so fast travel locations) so I can just keep going back and using as many weapons that go 'boom' as I possibly can.

If your down with older D&D, Planescape: Torment is one of the , if not the, best RPGs of all time.

As others mentioned the Witcher 1&2 are awesome too, just don't let the combat put you off at first.

These are very story driven RPGs not the open world create your own story variety.
