| Purify with flame | Enemy Territory Quake Wars
I feel the need for a new linux shootemup, and having played the old ET (WWII) game on the quake engine, it seems only logical to go to ETQW for my shoot em up fix. Anyone playing it? I have the demo installed now, and plan on getting reatil windows dvd to copy the .pak* files over under the new 1.1 linux installer. I am upgrading my videocards' cooling tonight, becuase I managed to hit 80C on my nivida card playing the demo last night. of course the proc cores were only at 40C, go figure.

I'll need to play bots for a while to get my sealegs on... I was giggling like a school girl that you can ride a friggin quad or drive a tank and crash it! Hopefully tonight my vid cooling system comes in so I can keep the video happy then I can play. I'll need to buy it to get the .pak files and I assume even the linux version wants a serial key. I'm afraid to by a 1-10$ copy on ebay because of this.

AT least a single core of 2.6ghz with 512mb of free RAM and a NVIDIA card of at least the 5xxx series, but more like at least a 6XXX series with 256mb of DDRx. Something like an overclocked GS or GT card with DDR3 should be ok, or the newer 88XX cards 512mb or 768mb would be great.

Try it out, it's a very good game, I even stopped playing world of warcraft! |
