How about an n750jv?

The same specs except for the ram and the ssd. 1/2 the price.

Im not sure why you would need 24 gig of ram. Im not positive but I dont think a card with dedicated memory in the video cardmthat you still get the option tomshare mb memory.

I have one and likemit a lot. Backlighted keys are cool!

frankly for what's there they are both overpriced. No one except maybe hardcore engineers and math guys needs 24GB of RAM period. If I were to choose though I'd go with the Asus over the MSI based on Asus offering better support, having the 780 over the 700 and offering a Thunderbolt port. Personally, and I may be biased on this, I'd go for an Alienware 14 that's spec'd out. Would be just as capable, same screen res, and more portable than either of these beasts

You sure videocard spec the same too dukie? Asus website all show a downgrade in the card the lower it cost. Lighter means not that much to me, would take more performance over it.

Not a fan of alienware to be honest, did a quick look at them the other day.

My last pc(2009) built I had drop 4k on, most thing got replaced and im tired of it. Was a freaking heavy monster too!

I work with assys with thousands of parts in them. The largest one I ever opened was almost 4 gigs. The need for 24 gigs would be quite a task.

Well yea im already aware that I would be paying 'more'(but not that much) for the tower equivalent and that I wont be 'as good' but im likely not even to use it at max capacity anyway.

What I mostly wanna know is will they last as much than a tower or more? My last one got 4years but many probs in between in failing part (graphic n hdd)

Why not save some money and get the Asus G750J?
I have one and I can play Battlefield 3 on ultra no problems and run AutoCAD and intense Google Sketch models without a problem. Unless you are doing something more with it.

I may consider the jx model
Having 8gb of ram less but are 1800mhz instead of 1600mhz
No thunderbolt(but optional)
Gtx770M 3gb instead of the gtx780m 4gb
Blueray player instead of writer

Saving 431$

Btw they may offer to take some of my old pc for saving.

I'm curious, are those tanky asus laptops upgradable in any way besides hdd? I have a really old one (g75j or something like that, forgot the letter) I figured the Graphic card is intergrated on the mobo, I just don't want to buy a new one, just want a bit more life out of it.
