No official way to do that unfortunately. There are 3rd apps that could most likely help you do it but officially directly nope

Hey Falcon,
I tried updating my Ipad and now for at least 24 hours, it's been stuck on the apple logo and 1/8th of the progress bar filled. I'm convinced it's stuck and now i'm worried about screen burn-in.
Nevermind, did a hard, hard reboot and the screen is okay.

Depends on the file format. honestly install VLC player for Mac and be done with it. It'll open just about any format going

Ok I've got a new one for you..
My wife is trying to upload video from her camcorder to her macpro.
Usb from video camera to laptop
A screen pops up searching for device but it never detects it?
What's going on?

the specific camera may be incompatible with mac. I'd say if it's uses SD cards take the card out and put it directly into the laptop and try transferring the video that way. you could also try creating a new user account and see if it works or perhaps try safe boot mode.

if you need directions for each of those steps drop me a pm

In the past before you and I walked through a cleanup it worked with this camera to the notebook.
I'll try the two steps you mentioned

Pmd you
Scenario: importing video from camcorder
Problem: we use to do it all the time from iMovie but now it's not working
Device: Sony handycam DCR-sx85
About my Mac:
MACBOOK PRO
13-inch,Late 2011
Mac OS X Lion Version 10.7.5
Processor 2.4 Ghz Intel Core i5
Memory 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Startup Disk Macintosh HD

What I tried safe mode boot result still not recognizing

I was able to "dub video" from cam coder internal memory to SD card then transfer SD card memory to MacBook Pro
BUT I'd like to just be able to transfer like we use to from cam corder USB to Mac

Got your pm river. We've been slammed at work so I haven't had a lot of time to research the issue or contact some of my fellow advisors in iApps to see if it's an iMovie specific issue. I'll get in touch ASAP
