Firefox being odd for anyone else?

For about a week now, Firefox has taken to closing itself randomly. Not crashing, but quite literally simply closing.

In addition to this, today I'll randomly be prompted with a dialog box for "Enter username and password for "Development Area" at http://www.crazzy.se/"

Anyone else notice this oddness? I've found only two other mentions (in English) of it with Google - they are here and here.

From what I know of Italian, this is also being discussed here, and from the French I can puzzle through, here as well.

I'm a bit irked, and a bit concerned, particularly because Firefox has been relatively bulletproof especially when combined with plug-ins like NoScript.

Thoughts, suggestions, or similar problems?

Had some problems with it closing down in some previous releases, but haven't since the latest release (v2.0.0.11)

Either an inflatable bunker or a tree, both work for me.

I had an issue with it yesterday automatically opening everything in a new window. I rebooted the machine and all is well.

I think I've answered my own question. It appears to be caused by the extension "external IP" ... most likely because it's IP query is tied to an account on crazzy.se, where something has changed. Workaround - Disable (for now) "External IP."

Better workaround: Remove lines 226-229 and replace line 224 with "else" in externalip@erik.morlin\content\getip.js in your \Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.default\extensions directory. Basically, from what I can tell, External IP is trying to reference four sites to verify your external IP, and two of them are down.

re crazzy.se

Started happening to me today. Firefox has been inexplicably shutting down for the last 3 - 4 days. Haven't yet had time to search for the problem source. There is no reference to either 'crazzy.se' or 'Development Area' in my registry. Running Firefox 2.0.0.11 _ Fat
