Just like Mac OS stopped at 10 (OSX), so will Windows. It's now Windows as a service, there probably will not be a Windows 11.

Service packs for Win10 are pretty major update changing around a lot of Windows 10. They are coming out about every 6 months. The newest is 1703, creators update.

One cool thing that's happened in these servicing updates is they've merged a lot of the source code between Xbox one and Windows. This has allowed any of the new Xbox games that are built in directx 12 to run on Xbox and Windows 10. So most of the Xbox exclusives like the upcoming Forza if you get it via the Xbox store will run on both systems. You don't even need an Xbox to play certain Xbox games.

Also the underlying OS is way more customization friendly, you can use a bunch of different Microsoft tools to customize however you want. Anything you don't like can be changed.

Buddy...please don't buy prebuilt that's ****ing awful. Your buddy said a GTX 1070 is a waste of money??? Stop getting advice from this guy. You only need 8gb of ram and an i5, put the rest of the money into your gpu. Get myself or one of the other guys on here to just build it for you, it'll be way better performance per dollar.

a high end overclocked 1070 is a bit of a waste but thats only because base 1080's had their prices dropped, your looking at about $500 for a 1070 FTW2, or 550 for a basic 1080 that beats it on all fronts..

but a 1070 is still a damn nice card to have in any rig

I stick to used for all my pc stuff, 1070s are 4-450 (cad) and 1080s are 600ish so quite the jump. Still not understanding the waste thing though, if you're gaming at 1080p you'd be fine with a gtx 970 for 200ish so I'm assuming we're talking 1440@144 here

My issue with the 1070 is the price gap in between the 1060 to the 1070. I can buy a new 1x60 whenever it comes out and not be out much money. Hell I just replaced my 760 this year because I just wanted something mo' betta.

GPU benchmark isn't the best website but the value on a 1060 vs a 1070 goes to the 1060.

A lot of prebuilts just suck to me, some use cheapo inhouse ram(no brand mentioned.) that worries me. If you can I would either build one or have someone assist with building one. If you absolutely cannot get away with building one.

Also I found this on amazon:https://www.amazon.com/Performance-D...us&sr=1-1&th=1

yeah fair enough on that front, i only mean waste as in, if your already willing to spend that much, you might as well spend another $50 and get a card that still outperforms the other, runs cooler, and uses less power..

used market and bang for the buck side of the house are 2 very different comparisons..

i game at 1920x1200@60hz, and there still games i cant run on full settings with a 1080 without some stuttering (ghost recon wildlands for starters)
