Final Fantasy Tactics

Does anyone else here play this game on a regular basis still? I just dug it out and am trying a solo main-character challenge (Sure it's not true solo since you have the guest characters without any choice on some battles, but they usually die pretty early into the fight the way I'm doing it. More JP for Murph!)

I was just wondering, but thinking about it, it would be awesome if we could make a flash-enabled game that used the same combat system for multiplayer against each other, since square's focus doesn't seem to be multiplayer turn-based strategy games.

I watched my brother play the entire game. It's one of the better games in video game history. He's now currently playing I think Fire Emblem on Wii. I remember him going insane in that mission with the Assassins and they'd always kill the little indian girl in like 3 turns right as the mission starts. I've never seen a reset button pressed as much as that time.

Try Advance Wars series on DS if you like strategy.

Kinda weird system I had when I was little, I never played but always watched him play, it's not like he didn't let me though.

The worst is when you're doing the solo challenge. The first mission is so dependant upon dumb luck, so you're hitting the reset button pretty much every attempt until like every attack on you misses for the first five turns.

Are you talking about the old Final Fantasy Tactics, or the new one? I used to play the old one way back when for the original Play Station. Absolutly loved Bushido Blade....lol

The old one, not war of the lions. They screwed up all the translations on the new one. The old one was funnier.

Advance wars is kinda of little-kiddy...try Front Mission on the DS. It just came out in English. I've been playing a translated version on SNES emus for years. Probably my favorite turn based strat game ever. Giant robots are always a plus - you even get to outfit them with weapons of your choice.

the new Advance Wars is very grim and non kiddy.

a big improvement I think, I never really liked the sorta childish slant on actual warfare (well actual in the game of course)
