No sense in making this complicated. If you want to reuse the drive then use your install disk to format it just before it installs the OS...it's part of the process any way.

If you want to destroy the drive forever then open the case, remove the harddisk and destroy it with a hammer. Bullets work, too.

DoD spec, I use it all the time, boot from CD and churn.

or a .308 round if I dont care to reuse it.

Take it out of your PC, switch the jumper to "slave", install it in another PC as a second HDD and use "My Computer" to format it.
