I took apart a Dell P1 233mmx.

I wouldn't do it on a rocking boat.

Do it on a big table with a very small phillips head screwdriver.

Start from left to right and try to line up the screws in the same orientation that you take them out of the machine in layers.

i.e., Layer 1 would start on the left and would be all of the screws you take off the bottom of the case.

Move lappy over 1 foot or so to the right and take apart another layer, keeping screws in approximate same relative location to eachother. If you are in a busy area, I would use double sided tape, hard styrofoam to stab them into, looped scotch tape, etc., to keep them from getting scattered, or from an errant sneeze.

It isn't hard, but tedious.

If you can fix an engine/paintball gun, you can fix a laptop.

It would be helpful to have access to the internet while you do it so you can look up oddball things like how to remove the keyboard, etc.

Best of luck.

Probably easier and cheaper to replace. Some of that crap is proprietary. They also think that mobo replacement might have to be done by them and only them.
