| the MilD MOD | I finally found a Wii in a retail shop yesterday. I bought Mario Kart as well. It is wicked fun. I LOVE the online feature allowing you to race other people all over the world. It is very easy to use and very fun. Nintendo Rules! That is all. |

| the MilD MOD | Well, the trick with the steering wheel (and the "blaster") is that it is really just a piece of plastic that enhances the shape of the standard motion sensitive controller, which is sold seperately of course. The game does come packaged with one wheel though, so it is basically free with the game if you only need one. What is amazing to me is that the motion sensing technology is so good that I can jump around on the couch making random "steering" motions in the air and my kart really goes where I want. I thought it was going to be difficult to get used to, but it is suprisingly natural. |

| the MilD MOD | Yup, its a pretty good control system in my oppinion. Mario kart is crazy addictive. I discovered how to view my regional and world time trial rankings last night and proceeded to spend a couple hours trying to improve my lap times on a single track. That, plus learning to do wheelies on the cycles made for a good night. Fun stuff. |

| Anyone on here who would like either my Wii address number to send miis or letter cans have mine if they want it. Also, any of you who play MOH Heroes 2 can have my wii gamertag, which is the same as what my tag on here is. The Wii is the best system i've owned, but I am a die hard Nintendo fan through and through. I have yet to try Mario Kart, but it's next on the list with Brawl! |

| MCB Member | I had the #9 time in the US on Luigi Circuit last night but I would imagine that it has been long since demolished as more people are picking up the game. After a few hours of play, I like King Boo the best but I still have some characters to unlock. LOTS of people seem to prefer Toad in the multiplayer. WiFi is awesome! Nintendo finally got it right. This is what a free online game should be. Sure, there's no communication and that hurts a little bit, but otherwise it's still quite fun. And besides, with how communist the game is, perhaps it's best that I can't hear the opponents scream when I red shell them at the finish line and zip past them for the win (happened more than once last night). Very few people are using the bikes in multiplayer yet so I must conclude that we just haven't figured out how to use them properly yet. I think this will be a very fun game to explore and learn. The GREAT thing about multiplayer is that there are plenty of people on the track AND you can play two people locally in a multiplayer match. That's very nice. |

| the MilD MOD | I have been using Yoshi on the Mach Bike exclusively and been able to score pretty well in the worldwide multiplayer. It seems relatively fast, but is easy to get knocked around by the bigger carts. If I can get ahead of the pack early on, I usually stay ahead unless misfortune strikes (and it often does). I know there is more speed to be had because I turn in faster lap times in automatic mode. The people who are coordinated enough to master manual drifting and mini-turbos will dominate. |

| MCB Member | Manual mode gives you the ability to finesse your slides with a bit of countersteer. Absolutely essential on longer, banked corners, of which there are a lot. Automatic mode is an all-or-nothing proposal so it's harder to really nail those corners tight. So far I prefer karts (gold sparks FTW!) with LOW drift. These are easier to start your slide ahead of the turn, then finesse the countersteer to nail the apex perfectly and zip right out with the gold sparks. High drift cars turn too fast and it's tough to keep your line. King Boo is lightweight and has pretty low drift so I'm rocking him for the moment. I see Birdo made it into the game this time around so I wonder how she handles. The problem with multiplayer is that people know to aim for the apex with their items to cut you off. When you're really trying to nail the line, you're pretty open to getting hit by whatever. For some reason, the bananas seem especially effective in this iteration. The rear-view toggle on the A button is deadly! I played a LOT on Kart on the DS version and I think MKW is a great improvement. It's basically MKDS2. I still have yet to check out the battle mode. ![]() My friend code is over at SCP if you want to play. |
