Pinnacle Systems Studio MovieBoard...any good

So is this sucker and the included software worth the sub $100 price tag?

Pinnacle Systems - Product summary - Studio MovieBoard

I don't want to break the bank, but I would like something that I can do some editing with also, that isn't just a direct copy and burn type software/hardware combo.

Ive used pinnacle stuff... and it seems to always be over simplified, and horrible CPU wise at compression.

Simple is good, but what do you mean by the last half of that statement?

I'm inclined to agree with Azzy.
I've used their stuff in the past, not real recently though.
Their 'wizard-esque" interface is almost too simple....and it does NOT use cpu cycles well.
Loosely translated.......she's a pig.

Damn.. thought it might be too good to be true.

Any other option that might come with good software so that I'm not using a pig machine (Visduh) and a pig device?

I may have it, but it doesn't mean I've used it.

I still need a device to connect my camcorder to the machine.

I should clarify, that I DO have an older pinacle usb connector, which CAME with the pinacle software. Although I dont use the software, i do still use their hardware device.

Okay... so maybe go with the pinnacle dazzle (the red one) seeing as it's $45... and find some other good software? Or do you think the card version has better value over the external device.

We have one of those dazzle units.. its "eh"

You are probably better off getting a standalone DVD burner and copying them that way, then import to your PC.
