Coworker's Competency Levels

So DPrekel and I both work in IT and are getting various levels of "scrwed evenings" from incomitent co-workers....which spawned a discussion of how do you actually define "normal" incomitency, vs "really incompitent"

I've come up with the following routine to help predict the odds of getting late night phone calls...........

IF damage-actually-done < potential-to-do-damage THEN
strCompentent = "yes"
ELSE IF
damage-actually-done = potential-to-do-damage THEN
strCompetent = "no"
call sub_cleanup(strCompetent.ID)
call sub_weekend(delete)
END IF

What if, as is the case with my "manager", damage-actually-done > potential-to-do-damage?

I have an inept category to add

one who can not schedule their way out of a paper bag but yet are responsible for over booking others so he can look good

can't oder the usual shop disposables or high sellers to keep them in stock so the shop is professional for having the items on hand

blames everything under the sun for the problems, issues and disasters he creates

never takes any responsibility for anything that goes bad

How about when you company does 75% of its business during the summer and they take on 2 huge accounts ( 10000 new pieces of equipment to service) and roll them out starting the begining of summer. Oh and I forgot, double to triple every service techs number of accounts, and yet hire no new people to help.
