The new maps pack is out! They look awesome but about 75% of the servers that have them running are hardcore. Oh and it cost a whoppin $0.00! Take that consoles!

Also noted, once you update to 1.6 you cannot join 1.5 servers.

Hardcore is the only way to play COD4. I'll d/l it when the server I play on gets the patch.

Hi,

I know people are raving about chinatown but IMHO I think the map sucks. Creek is good. Killhouse is a larger version of shipment. Chinatown and Broadcast are bleh.

COD4 has lost my interest. The 4 new maps seemed to take forever to get there. If anything, there should have been a patch just to due the minor updates as well as take out the stupid Xmas crash map. I just hate it since it was freakin still May and we where playing with Santa. It was cool during Xmas but not several months after. Also to me the game seemed to be overrun by kiddies, by people who literally play it 24/7, or who camp constantly.

The only way to play COD is by FFA or coop. TDM is pointless. S&D and HQ are just boring. Domination doesn't work if you don't know how to play it. Some arsehole railed into me on a dom server cause I kept getting killed and I was a level 55. (not like everyone is a Level 55 by now. Hell if you look for it there is even a hack to make yourself a L55 WTF?) He was how could you be a 55 and die so easily. I typed in cause I don't like camping just long runs. Someone did the lol and then the same guy turned around and said I was the type ruining the game. Hard to not say if he was 40 years old in his mamma's basement or not.

My other main gripe is the hit detection. I heard of the complaints but I didn't pay no mind until I really started to see it. I aim for a guys head and it is a body shot or a wound. If I aim for the body it becomes a headshot. Don't get it at all. IIRC, there was a post on some COD forum stating that they are still using an older hit boxes from COD1 or something.

Oh well end rant got to go.

Ive noticed that BS with the hit boxes also. Id UAV jam right up behind a guy, point my P90 directly at his head, shoot and end up with a body shot.

Finding a decent server is just plain hard. If you're on console, specifically Xbox 360, it's slim pickin's. Xbox LIVE is basically over-powered, foul mouthed 12 year olds who play all day screaming at you. I'm on PC and my usual server has yet to update...if they update. As far as I know they fixed most of the hit detection problems with the last patch (1.5), but I'll have the occasional miss because of it. My major gripe is aimbots, if you can't manage to aim on your own, don't bother playing.

I think generally COD4 just got a bit 'dull'? Personally I thoroughly enjoyed the singleplayer (Cpt. Macmillan mission being the best, his quotes are awesome) but the multiplayer got dull very fast after I hit Lvl 55. The games now just seem 'shallow'? I'm not sure how to explain it but the 'fun' is lost. Battefield: Heroes is a step back in the right direction. Aimbots are rendered useless due to the 'ranking' system. But the consoles are forging ahead, seems sad but I think the pc has lost me.
