Bummer man. I got FF at work after I got sick of IE7's obvious flaws.

Obvious flaws? Cant be all that obvious, the only thing I notice different is now it has tabs, and a built in search toolbar that I dont have to install 3rd party add ons to get.

Maybe it's been a little longer than I thought since the last time I used it. I don't remember the integrated ctrl+f part. That was really the most frustrating part of IE6 when searching a page.

I like that FF has a recovery option if it's closed without you closing the program. It's not major, but just today I was adjusting my nvidia settings for monitor backgrounds and when I made the changes it closed all my apps. I tyically have 4 tabs open so me being able to open FF back up and be where I was is a nice convenience. The download window is nice as is the .exe warning if you launch one of those from the download window. I think the popup blocker is also a little better, but getting one is pretty rare unless it's from freearcade.

I use both, but never saw the need to go to firefox past teh tabs thing, and the find function is cleaner on firefox than IE.

Then again, I wonder why most people would ever install any other media player when windows media player can easily be set up to play everything except realplayer video (yes, even quicktime files).

All this 3rd party software, compete with what is built into the kernal, is what causes most peoples issues, IMHO. Its like if you started installing all kinds of Microsoft software on a Mac, and complained that the Apple machine started to bog and have problems.

because windows media player is a resource hog, a pain to use, and really a crappy player all-round. M$ software is some of the worst stuff for a windows machine. you don't put a resource hog on an OS that inefficiently uses resources in the first place.

I really like VLC for a media player. Very simple to use, light on the RAM usage IIRC, and it has all the codecs I need right there.

VLC rocks and play AVi files something a MS will never do.

VLC plays most anything you can throw at it without a lot of searching for codecs and all. I like it!

As for Internet Exploder , I'm finally working somewhere that I'm NOT stuck having to use it. Firefox at home and at work, gotta love it.
