I was gonna post this in the regional forum, but maybe it's better placed here? I dunno... Anyhow, for us California people and I think one other state a new law starts up today:

Don't forget that the new "hands free" cellular law starts up today here in California.

I'm going with a bluetooth enabled headunit in my car. So far so good. I just haven't had a chance to synch my address books and such. But sound quality through the speakers & mic is good, and the noise cancelling function is decent.

NY has the handsfree law.... of course I still see a huge amount of people holding cell phones to their ears while driving, including cops

We got our new cell phones the other week and I coughed up a couple bucks to get my wife a bluetooth headset for driving and when she's dealing with our son and trying to talk to someone.

That's AMAZING!!!!!! Just the fact that they drive is crazy... I would think they would be so afraid of breaking the laws they are supposed to enforce that they would have trouble leaving the house.

NJ enacted that a few months ago.
It has been a secondary offense for a few years, but only recently became a primary....a few towns in my area already have a reputation for turning it into a serious revenue producer!

Florida started it, but couldn't figure out a way of enforcing it. This "wonderful" state also made a law to ban teens from texting while driving. Good luck figuring out how to enforce that one too. For the calling the local police decided to park in front of high schools during their lunch breaks and pull them over one by one. It was like shooting fish in a barrel.

Still very tempted to get a cell phone inhibitor to plug into my truck's AC adapter.
