| HD TV and Cable questions Parents just got a HD tv but some of the cable channels have the "Channel will be available shortly" message where some channels show up just fine. Can anyone explain this?

| Did you reprogram the TV, HD channels are on a whole different numbering system. I think it will go away after Feb 09 but right now most channels are broadcasting on analog and HD. select auto channel program and see if that helps I now get channels that are like 3-175 instead of just channel 3 |

| Seasoned Member | That setting may vary depending on the kind of HDTV they got. Make sure that they read over the manual and if they find the setting and still have trouble, they should call the cable company's support line. If they have Cox for cable, then they're set. Their over-the-phone tech support is tops (I've had to use it twice: each time I moved something doesn't transfer correctly and I have to call them late at night....there's someone there to speak to after the automated computer tries to help you and they're very helpful. problem solved to my satisfaction each and every time).

| Its an LG TV. 720p Plasma if that makes a difference. I got Comcast, they are telling me its the cable box and I need a new one, I used it just last night on the full spectrum of channels without a problem. Do I need some sort of special cable box to just get the regular analog channels? Do I need to hit some special setting on the TV to get regular analog channels to show up? Its weird cause I get the military channel, the encore movie channels without a problem. I ran the auto channel setup twice with the same outcome, some work, some dont.

| Oddest thing in the world. I just left it alone and it worked itself out. No idea why or how.

| VOTE BEER IN 08 | Probably Comcast. If you unplugged everything to hook it up it takes awhile for them to figure shit out. |
