L4D looks good because it looks like almost overwhelming odds at times and the zombies are fast.

Curious, why? Everything they've done as of late has been fantastic, IMO. Yeah, Steam sucked a fat one upon release, but I personally love it now.

I agree, I love steam. People that hate it are pirates or hackers...

Or 56k users like me...

Other than that it's one of the only copy protection schemes that doesn't punish [most of] it's legit users.

I hate those freaking huge, required (and frequent) updates.

On the topic of L4D, anyone else enjoy Zombie Panic?

Left 4 Dead is definitely a game I'll be checking out when it's released. Do you guys know is it only multiplayer? Or can you play it solo?

I enjoy it, but have yet to play a game where the humans win, it doesn't bode well for the zombie apocalypse

On the subject of steam, I like it a lot more than most drm. If valve went the route of EA I wouldn't play any of their games. My main problem with it is I can't play games if I can't get online. Also, if valve goes belly up, or is bought out, I might not be able to play my games anymore (although I'm sure there's cracks available).

That's not really a true statement heebs.I and millions of other gamers don't hack or pirate music, videos or games.I pay the same price everybody else does maybe even more.I just don't like how they control there product when "I pay" for it.Yes,I know I don't have to buy it.The ony choice is "I accept" or "Decline" the agreement and you know the ending of both choices
.
I do buy their products.I love their games I just don't think they should have access to my personal computer information. So,I run two computers one for gaming and one for personal business. My choice.

A little off the subject is Punkbuster. We give them total access to our computers. They can scan every file on your computer to make sure there is no hack files. That works fine for game cheats. But when some law inforcement agency subpoenas Punkbuster for records on your computer then that's a different story.Has it happened? Not that I know of.But it is very possible. And the best part is, we all give them permission to do it.Me too.
Here is the bottom line.Would you spend your hard earned money on other products if they had the same "terms of use" and property rights clauses.
Would you play paintball if the products had the same control over the use of their products "I agree or Decline" clause?

And it's not "well I don't have anything to hide attitude".Give your wallet to a perfect stranger and tell them to go thru it and copy any information they need.We just did the same thing with the game companies.(me too)
And yes, I will get the game.I am already signed up with them. What the heck.

Here is some information that is worth reading.I agree with their outline of proposed rights so far. It is a step forward in making the game industry value and appreciate it's customers.
