I wasted about a year of my live on SWG: The funny part is I came in right after the New Game Experience...so I only every knew the Benny Hill-esque wannabe FPS fighting style.

I love the Star Wars universe, and would enjoy a "good" MMO written in that genre.

I too hope it doesn't suck, but I also wont hold my breath.

This is their response to our demands for KotOR 3? They SUCK!

Some of us (I'd wager a good many of us) would rather have KotOR 3 with a good story line (not one that builds up alot of anticipation and then hands us crap like KotOR 2 did) than an MMO where they use the line of "you build your own story!" as an excuse to go lazy on the story line.

Quit throwing us crap, LA! Give us KotOR 3 and do it right, like KotOR 1!

KotOR 1 rocked, never touched #2 but I would rather play an MMO.

Solo RPG's are like masterbating... ok.. but not fun.

SWG was great, but Sony ruined it by a) not paying enough attention to the space game b) allowing everyone and their brother to be a jedi c) introducing all the stupid Ep I-III crap, when it was supposed to be set between IV and V

I don't expect this game will be any better, other than preventing Lucas from losing money from people who are paying Lucas a monthly fee for SWG quitting and going to a game where they don't pay Lucas a monthly fee. They would have been better off leveraging the NWN/NWN2 type format, where it -can- have large multi-player games and persistent worlds, but it relies on the user base to actually set them up. I bet fans would have eaten that up, and the original release could have been in Old Republic stuff, with Ep 1-6 and even post RotJ stuff thrown in as a series of expansion packs. Marketing plan fail.

Or just ditch this MMO crud entirely and go back old school to single player RPG. Bethesda and Square-Enix are continuously showing folks that that genre is alive and well and DEMANDED by serious gamers. We have to deal with the childish antics of prepubescent net denizens in fps multiplayer all the time, so why would we want to do so in our rpg's? Storyline is sacrificed so that everyone can play and have their own adventures, so things are reduced to episodic regularity instead of a massive, tied-together, sweeping story line. BOOOORING. Give me my massive, epic, sweeping storyline in single player KotOR3 instead of this MMO crap.

Biowere does good work. I think that KOtor 1 and 2 are awesome. they are my favorite games alongside the elder scrolls series. but yeah I can't wait for the mmo... it looks good on paper.
