Anyone know podcasting??

I'm trying to set up a podcast of a series of recordings and have a really quick question: do I need a separate .rss file for each .mp3 file? Let's say I've got 3 files recorded (120106.mp3, 120206.mp3, and 120306.mp3) and two more that haven't been recorded yet (120406.mp3 and 120506.mp3). Can I create one RSS file that people can subscribe to that will download the three that are there and then download the other two as they're available? I kind of thought that was the central concept of podcasting, but maybe I'm wrong....

Actually...nevermind...I think I answered this myself. Now I've got to figure out a way to easily create & update that rss file from a text file. I know I can use Perl to do that...I just don't know much about writing Perl. Actually, I know nothing about writing Perl, so this'll be fun!

Or... Just let me know how your txt file is set up here... I've already written the program... just need to know how to split up your TXT file. I.E. Title, link, etc, and the delineator... , or | or what...

I appreciate the offer, Carter, and I may take you up on it at some point, but I want to take a couple stabs at it myself first. We have a bunch of perl scripts that we use for generating XML files to enter or change data in our online courseware (Blackboard Vista), so I found the one that's closest to what I need and starting hacking it to bits. After I try it a few times and start ripping out my hair, I'll let you know.
