Yep, I got that impression as well.
Doesn't stop it from being really fun.

However it still comes down to just getting lucky on the first launch.
I managed to get three days because right off the first launch I managed to hit a purple and two yellow platforms in a row which shot me up to 5,000 feet right off the bat, and I got lucky and hit a bunch of bunch of blue and greens on the way down and , managed to get lucky really close to the ground and bounced off like 6 in a row long after I was out of fuel. The flight was just about 1 min 45 sec and along with a few coins I managed to snatch that gave me over a grand which I used to pick up level 2 radar, fuel sucker, and a rocket, with whatever change I had going into fuel.
2ed flight also went really well, I was able to keep it up for a while and by the time I came down I had enough to get level 3 rader, fuel sucker and some rockets.
3rd one I got to the moon then Mars.
Three days, beat that bitches.

Mostly it's easier because of the fuel sucker option which allows you to go for the platfroms for much longer, I had a flight that was 10 min, no way you would have been able to pull that off in the first Hedgehog Launch.

is thre eve a point to this game where it ends? I got pas the moon and i'm up to 40k feet, but there seem to be no end.

I didn't use the fuel sucker.

All I had was level one radar, the 600% fuel tank and the rest was in l/r rockets and the launcher. Oh. And I had level one emergency rocket.

I went to the moon, and then to mars in one jump too. but at the end of day eight, after buying upgrades, I had 47 cents left over. Then on day nine, I made it too mars. "Would you like to continue this game in free play mode". Yes. Bam! 47 cents in my account. Close tab. I made it to freaking mars, and I don't get a single cent to show for it? I wanted a cool hat and sunglasses! Bastards.

Sounds like you're in free play mode.
