Something wrong with direct x

Hey yall. I just downloaded Medal of Honor Pacif Assualt, and everything went great. But when I go to open the desktop icon to play it, it says that my video card doesnt fully support directx 8.1. Now, I have a rather newer computer, about a year old. 2.93 gigs. Celeron d processor. I know that its probably not the newest and greatest out there, but its windows xp and runs fine with just about all games I put on it. The game I want to get playing was made in 2004, so its older than my computer, but wont play. Can anyone help me? Do I realy need a hole new video card?

I had the same problem. I believe my computer came with a Geforce MX video card. MOHAA requires a video card that can support OpenGL. Mine didn't. So I swapped my video card for Geforce FX in my wifes computer and ran like a charm. I believe if you search around the MOHAA website you will find multiple threads that indicate which cards will work.

Its a box that pops up. Ive tried auto running it and also downloading riva tuner as suggested on a message board somwhere.

I guess its an intel(R) 82845g/gl/ge/gv graphics controller. I guess this is the type of card.

You need a new vid card, if your computer will take one.

ATI and Nvidia are your only good bets, and have budget DX9 offerings usually in the $80 range

Time for a new card.
That Intel card is pretty much the "standard option" on Dell's.
(Usually on an integrated motherboard though)
